US Model Railroad

Our main layout with USA theme. We are planning and building a modern model railroad with focus on American railroading from 1960-1990.

Track Planning

Development and optimization of the track layout. Considering main lines, sidings and yard areas.

Electrics & Electronics

Installation of a central and automatic control/feedback system (incl. monitor-/video surveillance) as well as further automation of the layout.

Scenery

Landscape design with mountains, rivers, roads and vegetation. Focus on authentic US landscapes.

Buildings

Construction and design of typical American buildings: Exclusive planning and manufacturing in America is already underway!

3D-Printing

Creation/fabrication of own 3D-"objects" for completion/supplementation of the layout e.g. signals, grade crossings etc.

Gerd

Founder of Kölner Eisenbahn Welten. Initiator of the US model railroad project and passionate collector of American locomotives and cars.
